Grapevine host Abbih Nguma drops sweet love song sung in Swahili, Kikamba and Giriama

Many people know Abbih Nguma as a TV host on KBC, but he is also a very talented singer. Abbih dropped a new jam ‘Mwanamwali’ – a love song that sounds more like those sweet Bongo music.
Mwanamwali means maiden in English.  The song comes off  Abbih Nguma’s much awaited album Zouk: The African Love Story.
This beautiful ballad depicts a scenario where Abbih Nguma finally decides to introduce a girl to his family, as his fiancèe. Brought up in the city however, ‘Mwanamwali’ played by Bianca the Boss Chick does not take to rural coastal life like a fish to the salty seas.
She struggles with the challenging chores, like collecting firewood, preparing sumptuous dishes, and even ‘appropriate’ dress code.
    Multilingual
The song is a monologue of sorts, with Abbih advising his mum to give his lady a chance to find her rhythm and adapt. He explains in excruciating detail her background, and his immense love for her so his mum sees the full weight of her actions and reactions.
This heart-thawing love story is set in the striking city of Mombasa, with quaint village as its backdrop. Written in Swahili, Kikamba and Giriama, ‘Mwanamwali’ is reminiscent of many a tale that lovers looking to settle down can relate to.
‘Mwanamwali’ was produced by Jacky B, a musical mainstay in Abbih Nguma’s career. The serenading saxophone sounds are by none other than the famed Juma Tutu.
